BeneTalk Research

We would like to invite you to be part of our research study. You will receive a detailed score of your assessments and get free, life-long access to BeneTalk. BeneTalk is inspired by personal experiences and shaped by scientific research, and we need your support to conduct ongoing research to help millions of people who stutter.

What do I have to do to participate?

You would need to:

What is in the assessment form?

The assessment form is taken from questionnaires that are widely used by researchers and have been tested and validated. It contains questions to understand your experience of stuttering. Any information you share will be anonymised and only used for this research study.

What are the benefits for me?

We will send you a detailed score of your responses within a month after you completed each assessment. This will give you a quantitative figure of the current impact that stuttering has on your life. Also, as a thank you for being part of the study over the 12 months, we will be giving you free, life-long access to BeneTalk.

Regardless of whether you take part in the study, we believe that BeneTalk can help you to communicate more confidently and comfortably. However, if you take part in this study, you will benefit from better insights into stuttering and your progress over time, which will boost your confidence. Both BeneTalk and this research study are being developed with the support of the University of Reading (UK) and Norway’s state speech therapy department.

Why do I need to complete multiple assessments?

This is to assess both the short and long term effects of using BeneTalk. Traditional speech therapy focuses only on the results of some months of intervention. Our technology allows us to do better than this and we aim to support you for a longer time, resulting in a higher impact on your quality of life. We will send you an email to let you know when it’s time to complete the next assessment.

Through research and innovation, we can build a better future for people who stutter all around the world.

Many thanks for your help,
